on the side 是什么意思?

Can I get the garlic dip on the side?"
I'd like the fruit on the side."
Tea with milk on the side, please."
Do you want the dressing on the salad, or on the side?"

separately

on a separate plate

not mixed in

"on the side" 只用于酱料吗?

不是。酱料最常见,但牛奶、gravy、fruit、salad dressing、toppings 都可以说 "on the side",意思都是分开给。

"with milk on the side" 和 "milk separately" 有区别吗?
