on the side 是什麼意思?

Can I get the garlic dip on the side?"
I'd like the fruit on the side."
Tea with milk on the side, please."
Do you want the dressing on the salad, or on the side?"

Lin
Then can I get a half stack, with fruit on the side?
Lin
That's fine. And some garlic dip on the side.
Lin
Peppercorn, on the side, please.

separately

on a separate plate

not mixed in

"on the side" 只用於醬料嗎?

不是。醬料最常見,但牛奶、gravy、fruit、salad dressing、toppings 都可以說 "on the side",意思都是分開給。

"with milk on the side" 和 "milk separately" 有區別嗎?
