by any chance 是什麼意思？怎麼用
"by any chance" 常放在問句裡，把問題或請求說得更客氣、更輕一點，意思接近“會不會剛好……”“不知道你這邊有沒有可能……”。它常常不是在認真計算“機率”，而是在給對方留空間，不想顯得太直接。
什麼時候說
- 問資訊時，表示“說不定你剛好知道/有”。例："Do you have one in Mandarin, by any chance?"
- 提小請求時，語氣更委婉。例："Could you tell me the Wi-Fi password, by any chance?"
- 買東西或點餐時，臨時加一個要求，很常用。例："Could I get these tacos with no cilantro, by any chance?"
- 也常用 "any chance..." 開頭來問“有沒有可能”。例："Any chance you could send it today?" / "Is there any chance you could fit my cat in today?"
語氣： 中性偏禮貌，日常口語很自然；它會讓請求沒那麼硬，但語氣還是要友好，不然也可能顯得你在試探著加要求。
注意： 別把它按字面硬翻成“通過任何機會”或“任何機會”，也別以為它完全不能出現在陳述裡。問題不在“陳述句”本身，而在位置和意思："I by any chance need a charger" 不自然。想提出請求，可說 "Could I borrow a charger, by any chance?"；想表達不確定，可說 "I might need a charger."
