instead of 是什么意思？怎么用
instead of 表示“用A代替B”或“做A，不做B”。它用来把两个选择放在一起比较，不一定表示“本来就该是B”，只是说明最后是A，不是B。
什么时候说
- 说“换一个，不要原来的那个”：Can I get mashed potatoes instead of fries?
- 说“用这个词，不用那个词”：Pilots say niner instead of nine.
- 说“做了A，没有做B”：We ordered takeout instead of cooking dinner.
- 说“这里是A，不是B”，有时带一点纠正：It says snakes instead of snacks.
语气： 语气通常中性、自然，也非常常用；在指出错误或对比时，可能会有一点纠正意味，但通常不失礼。
注意： 不要说 instead to。要说 instead of：instead of planning，不说 instead to plan。另一个易混点是单独用 instead：I’ll have tea instead. 这里后面没有被替代的内容，所以不用 of。
