How it works

Quick answers
Is it free?
Yes, and it needs no account. There is a daily limit on AI requests per learner; something already looked up loads instantly and doesn't count.
Can I type in my own language?
Yes. Type what you want to say in any language, or describe the situation in English (“ask my neighbour to turn the music down”).
How is this different from a translator?
A translator gives one word-for-word sentence. Lin gives what people actually say in that moment at three levels of politeness, names the common version that sounds off and why, and lets you practise it out loud right away.
Can I check my own English sentence?
Yes. Type it and Lin gives more natural ways to say it, and says what sounds off in yours.
Where do the answers come from?
An AI model writes them, following rules we set: short, spoken, everyday words. Treat them as a friend's suggestion; for anything legal or medical, ask a professional.
Are my lookups saved?
What you type is used to write the answer. The same question gets the same answer, which is cached without who asked. Your last few lookups stay in your own browser. Only what you save to review goes into Lin's memory of you, and you can delete it any time.
What does Save to review do?
It adds the phrase to what Lin remembers about you. Your daily plan then gives you a new sentence that uses the same phrase, to say out loud.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, in any phone browser, no app needed.
