up for…

“up for ...” 只有 “be up for” 常表示“願意、想參加”;像 “sign up for” 這類說法,要把前面的動詞一起看。

  • "be up for" + 名詞或 -ing:表示願意或有興趣參加。例:"Would you be up for karaoke tonight?"
Can I sign up for a membership today?"
Fans lined up for tickets."
Could you heat this up for me?" / "Could you box this up for me?"

語氣: "be up for" 偏口語、輕鬆、友好;"sign up for" 是中性日常說法;"line up for" 也很常見,但英式英語裡常說 "queue for"。

更自然的做法是先看前面的動詞:"be up for going" 是願意去,"sign up for a class" 是報名;而 "heat this up for me" 裡並沒有一個獨立的 "up for" 意思。

Lin
I had a really good time tonight, and I'd be up for round two.
Lin
Hey, would you be up for checking out a teahouse with me tomorrow?
Lin
Hey, any chance you'd be up for karaoke tonight?

feel like

I feel like doing karaoke."

be open to

比 "be up for" 更委婉,表示“可以考慮”。

want to

“be up for” 後面能直接接 to do 嗎?

說 "be up for doing something" 或 "be up for it",不要說 "I’m up for to go"。

為什麼 "sign up for" 和 "be up for" 不是一個意思?

be up for" 表示願意,而 "sign up" 本身就是“報名”,後面的 "for" 只是接物件。
