Frase de inglés hablado

¿Qué significa “I get it / I get that”?

"I get it" y "I get that" suelen significar "I understand" o "I see your point". Pero en "I get that a lot", get significa escuchar o recibir con frecuencia, no entender.

Cuándo se dice

  • Di que entiendes una explicación o un chiste: "Oh, I get it now."
  • Muestra comprensión antes de hacer un comentario distinto: "I get it, but we still need to leave."
  • Responde con amabilidad en un contexto de atención o servicio: "I get that. Let me help."
  • Usa "I get that a lot" cuando la gente suele decirte lo mismo: "You look young." "Yeah, I get that a lot."

Tono: Es muy natural al hablar y normalmente suena casual o neutro; si enfatizas mucho "I get it", puede sonar impaciente o sarcástico.

Cuidado: No uses "I get it" para decir "I agree". Normalmente solo significa "I understand"; si quieres expresar acuerdo, di "I agree" o "You're right".
